Tanzania Camping Budget Private or Join Safari Explained from Monkey Territory to Tsetse Flying

Tanzania Camping Budget Safaris Private or Joining are still the real Authentic African Safaris. First of all, we would like to inform you that some campsites in Tanzania’s national parks, especially in Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park, are outside the parks.

This is because the camping areas in the parks are not safe.

There are so many elephants and tsetse flies in Tarangire during the seasons of the year and in Lake Manyara there are many monkeys. You can lose your food from 6 days of safari in just five minutes and there’s nothing you can do because you’re inside the monkey’s territory.

The animal kingdom. Here nature rules and human demands have no priority!

For Tanzania Camping Budget Safari we normally use both 4 x 4 Land Rover / Land Cruiser / Minibus depending on safari schedule and season. Most of our customers prefer Land Cruisers in the dry season and Land Rovers in the wet season between April and June each year.

This is because Land Rover is always four-wheeled when driving in mud, but the Land Cruiser has you engage the four-wheel when you need it. The Land Cruiser also gets stuck more easily because of the rear springs, while the Land Rover doesn’t get stuck as quickly because all front and rear tires are protected by coil springs.

Animals normally drink water early in the morning and late at night. Such activities are possible to see in Lake Manyara or Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is a lot better as it is allowed to do very early game drives even before breakfast. It is possible to include walking safari especially for people doing private safari.

This will be charged directly or if you insist, we will also include this in the price. Of course we will indicate the costs separately for those who go on safari. Not all customers want to do a walking safari. The walking safari can be arranged at the campsite i.e. Twiga Camp / Fig Tree Camp / Zion camp and Popo Camp in Lake Manyara and Tarangire.

We normally take 4 people in a normal 6 setter Land Cruiser or Land Rover for those going on a camping safari and 6 people in an 8 setter extended vehicle. We reserve other rear seats for additional camping facilities, ie mattresses, blankets, tents and sheets.

DAY 1: Arusha-Tarangire

You will be picked up around 09:00 AM and depart for Tarangire National Park for the game drive. Tarangire is most spectacular during the dry season when thousands of animals migrate into the park from the surrounding arid Maasai steppe to use the permanent water supply of the Tarangire River.

You can see herds of elephants, more than a hundred. Tarangire is also known for its tree pythons, which are easy to spot. The dry season animal population rivals that of the Serengeti with wildebeest, zebra, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, gerenuk, fringed oryx and flocks of birds of many different species.

Prime game viewing is between July and November.

The famous and gigantic baobab trees are scattered all over the park, their branches look exactly like roots. Some baobab trees are over 300 years old. According to legend, a disgruntled god turned them upside down at the time of creation. All meals and lodging at Zion Campsite.

Ngorongoro, the largest contiguous caldera in the world, has an area of 260 kilometers and a depth of 610 meters. The crater provides a protected habitat for thousands of mammals and birds. The whole day is spent on the crater floor with lions, hyenas, wildebeest, zebras, black rhinoceroses and many species of small antelopes.

The Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area is located between the Serengeti and Lake Manyara. It is home to the famous Ngorongoro Crater, the largest continuous caldera in the world. The crater is a spectacular setting to experience your African safari. Some scientists argue that before it erupted, Ngorongoro crater – the largest intact caldera in the world – would have been higher than Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa.

The 600-meter (1,969-foot) deep crater covers just 260 square kilometers (100 square miles) and is home to a permanent population of more than 30,000 animals. It is one of the few places in Africa where you have a good chance of seeing the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhinoceros and elephant) during a game drive.

The local Maasai are allowed to graze their cattle on the crater floor, and it is not uncommon to see Maasai cattle and buffalo grazing alongside lions just meters away. There are about 1,000 lions in the crater, about 20 black rhinos, and the spectacular Lerai Forest is one of the best places in Africa to spot leopards. This is one of the natural wonders of the world.

Picnic lunch in the crater. In the afternoon before 4:30 PM, drive to Arusha where you will be dropped off at your hotel of choice.
