If you’re thinking of going to Legoland while you’re in Singapore (SG), then thank heavens for little graces as there are several transportation options to choose from.
Legoland is one of the most accessible theme parks in the world as it is located near the Lion City. In fact, it is not as difficult as one can imagine to get there. This is why millions of tourists come to Legoland as it is only 45 kilometers away from the Garden City (another name for SG). What is even more amazing is the fact that the theme park contains seven other interesting theme parks. Apart from that, the place is also filled with restaurants, souvenir shops and mini shops that can really entice both kids and adults to make Legoland a part of the itinerary when visiting Singapore.
How to get there
Thanks to technology and foresight, getting to Legoland is as easy as ABC. You can choose a method that suits your individual or family needs, budget, and other preferences. These are the transport options:
If traveling long distances and spending more time on the road doesn’t bother you or your family, this is a good way to travel as you don’t need to book in advance. You can present your group at public bus stations going to Johor Bahru. Just follow the Jurong East and Boon Lay to Tuas Checkpoint and get off when the bus stops at CIQ Interlink.
You can travel by bus from Monday to Sunday from 07:00 to 23:45. From this point, transfer to another bus. Legoland will be the first stop on that journey. There are 8 bus trips from CIQ Interlink departing every hour from 9am and 30 minutes after that. Bus SI1 and bus JP02 have only four runs in one day starting at 8:30am and every 3 hours thereafter.
The price of bus tickets varies from SGD20 to SGD56 per person.
If you want to travel faster than by bus, this is one of the best options. You can hire a licensed taxi from Singapore and ask to be dropped off at Johor Bahru Sentral. From this point, take another taxi to reach Legoland directly. With this method you do not have to travel for at least two hours. You can even take the elderly or those with comfort issues.
However, it is more expensive and you need to book in advance. You can also optionally use a Legoland ticket reservation to facilitate easy access when you reach a customs office in Malaysia or Singapore. Remember only accredited taxis are allowed in the Malaysia area and regular taxis are restricted to the Singapore side exit. So to make things easier for you, with your SG taxi you can arrange a Malaysian taxi to meet you at the border.
When we say private, it is through a personal car or by renting a private vehicle. The best thing about this option is that you will be picked up wherever you are in Singapore and dropped off directly at Legoland in Malaysia. Another amazing feature of this method is that you don’t have to get out of the car once you reach custom checkpoints in both the Malaysian and Singaporean stations.
If you hire a private car, it will cost approximately SGD 170 to SGD 320 depending on the type of vehicle you book. Of course, this is the ideal option if you prefer a quicker trip from SG to Legoland and have money to spend. Plus, this is also great for groups as the more people you travel with, the cheaper it gets as you rent the whole vehicle instead of paying per passenger.
You can book in advance with various travel agents and let them take care of everything, including arranging transport services from Singapore to Legoland, along with other benefits such as free bottled water (or even food), comfortable seats, kid-friendly chairs, DVD players, TV monitor or music player. Some package tours also include insurance coverage and provide entertainment requests where possible.
Whether you are traveling alone, with your family or with a group from Singapore to Legoland, there is always an option that suits you best.
